I've been getting barraged with email over the past month concerning two issues: the relative inactivity on the GT Blog and the temporary removal of the GT social network.
Before addressing these concerns, I'd like to apologize for not being able to answer everyone's email. Guitar Therapy is basically a one man show. I built and am responsible for maintaining the site. For the most part, I am, what you might call, the lone blogger here as well. I am responsible for answering any email which comes in. Add to these responsibilities the fact that the website is an offshoot of my profession, which is primarily as a guitar instructor and service provider for the care and maintenance of guitars. All of these responsibilities have spread me rather thin in recent months. I'm telling you this, not because I want your sympathy, but because I want you to understand the reasons why I've been slow to answer your email, slow to get the social network back up and running and why, except for the GT Player of the Month column, the GT Blog has remained relatively stagnant over the past 8 or so weeks.
That said, here's where we are with both the blog and social network. Right now, I feel that it is more important to get the social network up and running again than it is to blog. Therefore, with the exception of the GT Player of the Month column, I will be concentrating my energies on getting the network up again first. Once that issue is resolved, I will resume blogging more regularly. My priorities here are the direct result of feedback from our members. Yes, a lot of folks are wondering about the GT Blog, but the vast majority of our members are more concerned that the GT social network is down and are wondering when it will be active again. Unfortunately, I can't give you a solid answer on when the network will be ready, because I haven't pinpointed the cause of the issues some of our users were having with it. It will take time to troubleshoot the problem(s) and implement an appropriate fix. In the meantime, (at least for now) you will be able to access and use all other resources on the Guitar Therapy website. I do apologize for the inconvenience. I am confident that I will get the problem resolved and we will be able to resume "operations" as before in due course.
Have a great day and happy picking!
