An original acoustic instrumental I worked up recently, it was inspired first by water and then by a phenomenon known as a braided river. I think when you hear the meandering character of the tune, it will become apparent how the name stuck.

This video tutorial is from Justin Sandercoe over at justinguitar.com. While I don’t know Justin personally, he seems like a very cool guy. His instructional videos are intuitive and easy to understand. Probably, I will be adding Justin’s website to our resources menu.

Valley of Neptune – (2010) 12 tracks 62 minutes

Many people question how a dead artist can keep releasing CD’s.  I can’t answer that; however I can tell you this is a great CD.  On it, you’ll find studio recordings, which until now, were unavailable to the public. Among them are some old standbys. But you’ll also find a couple of new offerings from Jimi. 

This is Jeff Beck performing, Cause We Ended As Lovers, with the effervescent, Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. My fellow blogger and internet pal, Tim over at Guitars and Theology brought this to my attention when he posted a video of a different rendition of the song, also featuring Beck and Wilkenfeld.

This is the conclusion of my good friend Tim Bindner’s multi-CD review of the work of Blues artist, Jonny Lang.

The GT Player of the Month for February is a young up-n-comer with tons of potential. His name is Bert Emery and his guitar of choice is the four string  electric bass guitar. Bert has been a GT Member since August of last year and has displayed not only a solid work ethic toward the instrument, but has a great attitude and lots of possibilities. Allow me to flesh this out for you.

This is just a little acoustic instrumental tune I banged out the other night. It’s done in open D tuning and played in fingerstyle. Would make a good backing track or background music while you’re surfing the net. If you don’t know how to tune your guitar in an open tuning, and are interested in exploring it, you can tune your guitar as follows:
